A visit from The Wildlife Trust

We took part in a minibeast hunt and made bug hotels!
Today the children of Key Stage 1 and EYFS took part in a session with Mark from The Wildlife Trust. We used magnifying lenses to observe creatures that we had found. When we put some of the bugs into a special pot to observe them they looked enormous underneath the magnifier! We also did a 'tree shake'. This is where we placed a piece of cloth underneath a tree to catch any bugs as the branches were shaken. Afterwards we made small 'minibeast hotels' to create safe habitats for bugs to live.
